— Mural Competition
The A+CA “America+ Campus Action” is primarily curated for the multi-ethnic and integrated borough of Queens, New York—focusing chiefly on elementary and middle school students in Queens, while also welcoming participation from other communities, ethnicities, and international students. This competition advocates for cross-cultural interaction among artists, students, and communities. By combining online exhibitions with offline public art activities, it ensures that youth creations extend beyond the artwork itself, allowing students to actively participate in campus cultural development, community environment improvement, and cross-cultural exchange.
Outstanding works will be showcased on our official website and will participate in related offline art exhibitions or public art projects. Every year, our organization collaborates with artists to deliberate on current social issues and select a theme for that year’s competition. Through diverse presentation formats and cross-disciplinary integration, we inspire young people to understand society and showcase their extraordinary creativity.
1. Competition Theme
“America+ Campus Action” — Brightening Kissena Baseball Field: Mural Competition Themed around Baseball
In the A+CA Mural Competition themed around baseball, baseball is not just a sport, but also a cultural symbol and an embodiment of collective spirit. Through artistic creations depicting baseball games, students can deeply explore core values within sports, such as teamwork, perseverance, and fair play. Each artwork not only portrays exciting moments on the sports field but also reflects students' understanding of themselves, their schools, and their dreams.
Furthermore, we are very honored to announce that winners will have the precious opportunity to personally paint their mural creations on site, under the guidance of professional artists. This is not only a stage to showcase talent, but also a valuable opportunity for deep engagement, growth, and exchange. We hope every participant can bring the spirit of baseball into their campuses and integrate it into their lives through their works.
We sincerely invite your esteemed school to participate in the A+CA 2026 "America+ Campus Action" — Brightening Kissena Baseball Field Painting Competition, to jointly cultivate students' creativity and sense of social responsibility.
2. Registration & Submission Period
July 2026 – January 30, 2027
Participants must submit their artwork online. All submissions will be evaluated collectively by the Judging Committee after the deadline.
Note: Two free introductory/orientation sessions will be held in October (Details available on the official website).
3. Expert Evaluation
February 1, 2027: The Academic Committee will review and evaluate the competition proposals. More than 10 international artists will be invited to participate in the selection process.
February 28, 2027: Official announcement of the competition results.
March 2027: The Academic Committee will finalize the execution plan for the actual wall murals, and volunteer recruitment will begin to prepare for the mural planning.
4. Mural Painting Execution
June – August 2027: The mural installations will be fully painted and completed on community public walls.
The Judging Committee will evaluate all entries and announce the winners. Outstanding works will be displayed online via our official website. Selected exceptional works will also have the opportunity to participate in offline art exhibitions and public art projects.
5. Competition Categories
The competition is divided into two categories based on age:
Children’s Group: Ages 6–11
Youth Group: Ages 12–18
Note: Participants aged 6–11 may submit their mural design drafts either as individuals or as a team (up to 3 members per team).
6. Evaluation & Rewards
All entries will be evaluated by professional judges from our non-profit Academic Art Committee to ensure fairness and impartiality.
Winners will receive:
An official award certificate issued by the Art Committee.
The opportunity to participate in the summer on-site mural creation project, drawing and painting their winning designs onto designated walls under the live guidance of professional artists from the Art Committee.
The opportunity to engage in community service by assisting with the completion of community mural projects, and receive an official Volunteer Service Certificate.
7. Awards Setup
The following awards will be presented separately for both the Children's Group and the Youth Group:
First Prize: 1 Winner
Second Prize: 2 Winners
Third Prize: 6 Winners

8. Exhibition of Works and Public Art Projects
All winning entries will be showcased on the official A+CA website.
Selected mural designs will be executed as actual murals and displayed in parks and community public spaces.
Through a volunteer program, students can directly participate in the mural creation process, gaining hands-on experience.
9.Volunteer and Training Arrangements
Volunteer Recruitment Period: July 2026 – March 30, 2027
October 2026: The non-profit organization will host two free online sessions to explain the competition details and help participants better understand the contest.
March 2027: Competition results will be announced, and volunteer recruitment for mural painting will begin. Participants should indicate their interest on the registration form. (Volunteers may assist with mural painting, material preparation, and community art education activities.)
10.Artwork Requirements
Recommended Size: 18" × 24" (46 × 61 cm)
Maximum Size: 24" × 36" (61 × 91 cm)
Artwork must not exceed the maximum size.
Materials
All artistic materials and media are accepted.
If special materials or techniques are used, please provide a brief description.
Artwork Statement
Each artwork must be accompanied by an Artwork Statement.
The statement may include the artistic concept, materials, creative process, research background, or other relevant information.
Maximum length: 1,000 words。

11. Submission Requirements for Award-Winning Works
Award winners will be notified after the judging process is completed.
All award-winning artworks must be mailed in their original form to New York, USA, according to the instructions provided by the Organizing Committee. The artworks may be used for award exhibitions, archival purposes, and related public programs.
Shipping deadlines, mailing addresses, and detailed submission instructions will be provided in the award notification.
